People celebrate "Holi," a festival of colors also known as "Phagwah," to welcome the spring equinox. The holiday originated in India and is celebrated in New York by diaspora from Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Suriname and Guyana as they represent the many Hindu devotees outside of India.
